Tour Itinerary

Day 1 – Gangtok → Lachen (If Weather Permits)

Distance: Approx. 120 km | Duration: 5-6 hours

Route: Gangtok → Mangan → Chungthang → Lachen

🌅 Morning:

  • Early departure from Gangtok (around 8:00 AM)
  • Drive towards North Sikkim through winding mountain roads

🍽️ Sightseeing En-route:

  • Seven Sisters Waterfall - Spectacular multi-tiered waterfall
  • Naga Waterfall - Picturesque cascading waterfall
  • Singhik View Point - Stunning views of Mt. Khangchendzonga
  • Chungthang Confluence - Meeting point of Lachen & Lachung rivers

🌆 Evening:

  • Reach Lachen (approx. 8,610 ft altitude)
  • Check-in at hotel/homestay
  • Light walk around village for acclimatization
  • Dinner & overnight stay in Lachen

Important: Early dinner and rest recommended for next day's early morning trip

Day 2 – Lachen → Gurudongmar Lake → Lachung (If Weather Permits)

Distance: Approx. 160 km | Duration: 7-8 hours

🌄 Early Morning (3:00 AM - 4:00 AM):

  • Depart for Gurudongmar Lake in darkness (packed breakfast)
  • Gurudongmar Lake (17,800 ft) - One of the highest lakes in the world
  • Sacred lake revered by Buddhists and Sikhs
  • Breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks
  • Photography & spiritual experience
  • Limited time at lake due to extreme altitude

Note: Oxygen cylinders recommended at Gurudongmar due to high altitude

🍳 Morning:

  • Return to Lachen for hot breakfast (around 10:00 AM)
  • Checkout and proceed to Lachung via Chungthang

🍽️ Afternoon - Sightseeing En-route:

  • Thangu Valley - High altitude Tibetan plateau
  • Chopta Valley (seasonal) - Alpine meadows with stunning views

🌆 Evening:

  • Reach Lachung (approx. 8,858 ft altitude)
  • Check-in at hotel/homestay
  • Explore local village market
  • Dinner & overnight stay in Lachung

Day 3 – Lachung → Yumthang Valley → Zero Point → Gangtok (If Weather Permits)

Distance: Approx. 150 km | Duration: 7-8 hours

🌅 Morning Visits:

  • Early breakfast at hotel
  • Yumthang Valley (11,800 ft) - The Valley of Flowers
  • Vast meadows with colorful rhododendrons (March-May)
  • Surrounded by snow-capped mountains
  • Hot Spring - Natural sulphur hot spring (therapeutic)

🌄 Optional Extension:

  • Zero Point / Yumesamdong (15,300 ft)* - Last civilian point near Indo-China border
  • Snow-covered landscape (even in summer)
  • Play in snow & photography

*Zero Point requires additional charges and vehicle upgrade. Subject to weather & road conditions.

🍽️ Afternoon:

  • Return to Lachung for lunch
  • Checkout from hotel
  • Drive back to Gangtok via Chungthang

Day 4 – Gangtok Local Sightseeing / Departure

  • MG Marg shopping & cafes
  • Ropeway ride (cable car)
  • Enchey Monastery
  • Ganesh Tok & Hanuman Tok viewpoints

🌆 Evening / Departure:

  • Transfer to NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport
  • Tour ends with unforgettable Himalayan memories
